Road Marking Materials
Cold plastic for road striping
Cold application plastics are new, economical materials which have great potential future benefits. They are used in road striping for the purpose of increasing traffic safety. The plastic hardens onto the road surface via a chemical reaction called polymerisation.
The hardening agent is supplied with the material. The road marking made with cold application plastics combines such features as good resistance to abrasion, flexibility, hardness, resistance to low temperatures, water and salt, high level of adhesion to both asphalt concrete and cement concrete surfaces. The active service period of the material is no less than 24 months.
Application purpose: longwise road striping with glass beads. Gel formation timing: 3 min. from the moment of mixing A and B components. Hardening timing: 25 min. from the moment of mixing A and B components at 200C.
Technical specification
- content of the non-volatile agents: no less than 76%
- whiteness: no less than 86%
- hardened film frost resistance: no less than 25 cycles
Application conditions: no lower than +50C. Shelf life: 12 months in the originally filled and sealed packing Storage and transportation conditions: in the tightly closed packing at 00C – 300C.
Application
A component is loaded into the first material tank of the road marking machine. B component is thoroughly mixed with the hardening agent and is loaded into the second tank of the road marking machine. Through the pipeline the two components are delivered into a mixing receptacle. Afterwards the plastic is applied onto the road. The recommended expense is 1,6 – 2,0 kg/sq.m. with the layer thickness of 1,0 – 1,3 mm.
The glass beads are sprayed right on top of the freshly applied plastic no later than in 5 minutes after mixing the two components. The glass bead expense is from 200 up to 250 gr/sq.m.
High viscosity cold plastics
Cold application plastics are new, perspective and economical materials used for road marking for the main purpose of increasing the traffic safety. The plastic hardening on the road surface is resulted from a chemical reaction which is called polymerization. Structural road marking has an enhanced retroreflective coefficient on wet and flooded road surfaces.
Application purpose: marking zebras, stop lines and arrows, cross roads, noise making lines and side lines on the roads and highways. Gel formation timing: 8-10 min. from the moment of introducing the hardening agent. Hardening timing: 3-25 min. from the moment of introducing the hardening agent at 200C +-20C.
Technical specification
- content of the non-volatile agents: no less than 87%
- whiteness: no less than 78%
- hardened film frost resistance: no less than 25 cycles
Application conditions: no lower than +50C. Shelf life: 12 months in the originally filled and sealed packing. Storage and transportation conditions: in the tightly closed packing at 00C – 300C. Application: Depending on the application purpose the material is applied either with a die or manually through a stencil. It can also be applied with special structural road marking equipment. The recommended expense is 3,8 – 4,5 kg/sq.m. with the layer thickness of 2 -2,4 mm.The glass bead share is 25% from the volume of the material. The rest of the glass beads is sprayed right on top of the freshly applied plastic no later than in 5 minutes after introducing the hardening agent. The glass bead expense is up to 30%.
The material is manufactured in different colors: white, yellow and red.
