Conference «Hidden champions in CEE and Dynamically Changing Environments»

A conference on «Hidden Champions in CEE and Dynamically Changing Environments» took place in Vienna on 17-18 of November 2011. The event took place at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, in cooperation with the IEDC - Bled School of Management. STiM Director General Dmitriy Chernenko took part in the conference, the Director General of the company which is a «hidden champion» in the field of road marking on the global Eurasian market.

The results of the pan-European studies on successful strategies, the business-stories of innovative, specialized small and middle «hidden champions» from Central and Eastern Europe were presented at the conference. These enterprises raised their market positions in narrow market segments to the international level. They successfully ride on a wave of global competitiveness and even in times of economic turndown demonstrate the capacity to grow.

Dmitriy Chernenko also shared his ideas with the conferees:
«I believe the trend of the future is a vertical integration of an enterprise: when one division creates a market for another division. Thus our road marking machines have created a demand for high-quality paint, and together they have created a possibility for high-quality road marking.»

The event gathered more than 130 participants from 31 countries – “hidden champions”, business leaders, business experts in the fields of economic growth, international business and innovations, venture funds and other investors, representatives of educational and political spheres.

«Within the framework of this conference, we have found partners from China for entering the Chinese market of road marking machines. Among the goals of our company are: tailoring of manufactured products according to the needs of new markets and their constant modernization as well as the creation of our own service network» – STiM Director General said.

The conference has become an excellent platform for exchanging of views, opinions and ideas for developing the policies of such companies in the future. Cooperation and cohesion were chosen as some of the main aspects of sustainable development. The conference organized by an international management development association CEEMAN, gave an opportunity to make a move forward in this direction and create new partnerships, it also contributed to strengthening of business and social alliance of the «hidden champions».
